KCCA FC 2-1 Police

Police Football Club was subjected to its first loss under new coach Matia Lule after a slim 2-1 loss to KCCA at the Phillip Omondi stadium in Lugogo during Uganda Premier League matchday 26.

On-form talisman Umaru Kasumba’s penalty kick had canceled out Shafik Nana Kwikiriza’s goal but Usama Arafat Kizza won it late for the hosts.

KCCA took the lead in just seven minutes when Kwikiriza finished placed the ball past goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga to give KCCA the lead.

Kasumba restored parity for The Cops in the 24th minute after a deliberate handball inside the penalty area for the opposition that saw referee Dick Okello point to the spot.

By converting the penalty, it was Kasumba’s fourth goal in five games played in April adding to a brace against URA FC and one off Mbarara City all at Kavumba recreation center.

In the second half, Coach Lule made some changes with Ivan Eyamu, Gadaffi Kacancu all coming on while Reagan Male had earlier replaced Loki Emmanuel who was stretchered out injured.

After 71 minutes, KCCA took the lead through Usama Arafat who capitalized on the ball melee with the keeper already beaten.

Muwanga was in the 86th minute sent off after a second bookable offense leaving Police FC with numerical disadvantage. The red card saw Tonny Kiwalazi pave way for third choice goalkeeper Sammon Oloka.

The loss left Police on 30 points in the 12th position and will hope to bounce back to winning ways against Maroons on Tuesday in the next league action at Luzira prison ground.
