AIGP Hadijah Namutebi, the Director of Welfare, Production and Sports, today 1st September 2025, officially launched the draws for the quarterfinals of the second edition of the IGP’s Cup.
The draws, conducted at Police Headquarters in line with FUFA regulations, were supervised by FUFA’s Director of Competitions, Hajati Aisha Nalule.
Eight teams representing the eight Police blocks will face off in knockout fixtures on 16th September 2025 at Wakisha Playground. The grand finale is scheduled for 19th September 2025 at the newly constructed home of Police FC in Kira Road Police, Kamwokya, which will also serve as the official launch of the stadium.
In her remarks, AIGP Namutebi urged the community to turn up in large numbers to support the games, emphasizing that the tournament is intended to promote physical fitness, talent identification, and unity within the Force and the community at large.
The IGP’s Cup, which features both football and netball, has been running since November 2024.
