The first is a case of a missing juvenile reported at Wandegeya Police Station on 6th November 2025, in which Kamuganga Sarah reported the disappearance of her daughter, Aneza Merisa.
The second incident, under investigation at Nagalama Police Station, involves the recovery of a decomposing body from Musaale Swamp in Namulaba Village, Kyampisi Subcounty, on 10th November 2025. The body was dressed in a navy-blue student skirt labelled “Nanyonga VII,” indicating that the victim may have been a student. The specific school is yet to be identified, and police are engaging nearby institutions to establish whether they have any missing learners.
Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the mortuary staff in Kayunga buried the body in a cemetery. When the parents of the missing child learnt of the body recovered in Nagalama, they assumed it could be their daughter. However, this remains unconfirmed, as they have not physically viewed the body.
As part of the ongoing investigations, police have applied for a court order to guide the exhumation of the body. Samples will be extracted for DNA analysis to determine whether the remains are those of the missing child, Aneza Merisa.
We appeal to the general public to remain calm as investigations have not yet established any link between the missing juvenile and the body recovered in Nagalama.
Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
