Security agencies remain fully committed to ensuring the safety of all citizens during and after the elections.
On 22nd January 2026, elections will be held for Lord Mayor, Lord Councillors, and District Chairperson. In this regard, joint security operations and deployments are ongoing across the metropolitan area.
The priority of the security forces remains the protection of life and property, the maintenance of law and order, and the overall preservation of peace. We are adequately prepared to ensure that there are no disruptions at polling stations.
Individuals planning to cause disruptions, violence, or engage in any unlawful acts are strongly warned to desist. Lawlessness will not be tolerated.
We therefore call upon the public to remain calm, peaceful, and cooperative throughout this period.
