A team from the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, led by SP KANANURA MICHAEL, the Directorate’s Liaison Officer, in partnership with regional traffic officers, has successfully concluded a three-day road safety awareness and sensitization campaign conducted from 24th to 26th March 2026 across primary schools in the Savannah Region.

The initiative focused on equipping learners with vital road safety knowledge while also engaging school administrators on their role in promoting safe road practices within their institutions. The campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to reduce road crashes and instill a culture of discipline, responsibility, and safety consciousness among young road users.

To support continued learning, road safety charts and educational booklets were distributed to participating schools, ensuring that key messages remain accessible beyond the campaign period.

During the engagements, SP Kananura Micheal encouraged learners to stay alert while using the road and to consistently follow traffic guidelines to safeguard their lives and those of others.
