POLICE RECOVER 68 STOLEN HEAD OF CATTLE, THREE SUSPECTS ARRESTED

The Territorial Police in Luwero District have successfully recovered 68 head of cattle and arrested three suspects in connection with cattle theft in Kigumbya Village, Kamira Sub-County, Luwero District.

The operation followed credible intelligence indicating that a group of suspects was in the process of transferring the stolen cattle to a potential buyer. Acting swiftly on this information, a police team was deployed to the area.

At approximately 0100 hours on 31st March 2026, the police proceeded to Kigumbya Village, where the three suspects were arrested on the spot while in possession of the animals.

Subsequent investigations established that the cattle had been stolen from a nearby farm. The farm manager positively identified one of the suspects, Kayima Fred, as an employee who had participated in the theft.

The other suspects have been identified as Kasenge Muzafaru, aged 25, a boda boda rider, and Ssemwanga Henry, aged 24. All are residents of Kabunyata Zone, Kamira Town Council.

The suspects are believed to be part of a group involved in cattle theft within Kamira and the surrounding areas.

The operation was executed successfully, resulting in the recovery and secure custody of all 68 head of cattle as exhibits.

A case has been registered, statements have been recorded, and the suspects remain in police custody pending further investigations. Intelligence-led operations are ongoing to apprehend any additional suspects linked to the crime.
Further inquiries into the matter are still underway.
