• Kitara 2-2 Police
Striker Umaru Kasumba scored twice as Police FC wrapped up their 2025/26 Uganda Premier League campaign with an entertaining 2-2 draw against Kitara at Royals Park, Butema.
Kasumba netted in either half to take his season tally to six goals. The forward opened the scoring inside the opening ten minutes, clinically slotting home Saidi Kyeyune’s low cross after a well-worked counter attack that started from the back.
Kitara responded just a minute into the second half through Patrick Kaddu, but the Cops quickly regained control of the contest.
In the 61st minute, Kasumba restored Police’s lead with a composed finish beyond goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige after being set up by Sizwe Mario Gwebu.
Police’s hopes of ending the season with victory suffered a setback five minutes from time when defender Daniel Jakony was shown a straight red card by referee Nasser Muhammad in what appeared to be a harsh decision.
The numerical advantage eventually paid off for the hosts as Jimmy Kalema headed home from a long cross after goalkeeper Sammon Oloka failed to deal with the delivery, ensuring both sides settled for a share of the spoils.
The result sees Police finish the season seventh on 47 points, securing qualification for next season’s tournament.
Kasumba ended the campaign with seven league goals, one behind Police’s top scorer Bedia Ikamba Djuma.
