POLICE RECOVER SUSPECTED STOLEN CATTLE, ONE SUSPECT ARRESTED

Police in Nagalama Division are investigating a case of suspected cattle theft following the recovery of three cows and the arrest of one suspect in Mukono District.

On 10th June 2026 at about 5:00 a.m., a motorcycle patrol team intercepted a white Toyota LiteAce registration number UAX 417Y along the Kampala–Kayunga Highway. The vehicle, which was fully covered with an orange tarpaulin, failed to stop when signaled by officers, prompting a pursuit.

The vehicle was later abandoned at Kalagi Trading Center, and three occupants fled the scene. Upon inspection, officers recovered three cows concealed inside the vehicle.

One suspect, identified as Byansi Livingston alias Lubega Yusuf, was arrested and is currently in police custody to assist with investigations. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the other suspects who escaped.

The recovered vehicle and cattle have been taken to Nagalama Police Division pending verification and identification of the rightful owners.

Police urge anyone who may have recently lost cattle or has information regarding the recovered animals to report to Nagalama Police Division.

Investigations are ongoing.
