EAPCCO
The Uganda Police Force will this August host the 1st Inter Force competition of East Africa police (EAPCCO) games.
The four- day games will be hosted by Uganda Christian University (UCU) based in Mukono
This year’s competition will attract over 400 participants from 7 countries out of the 13 member states and will compete in football, boxing, volleyball, table tennis, shooting, netball, and athletics among others.
The Uganda police team headed by the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura on Wednesday paid a visit to Mukono based campus to assess, evaluate and monitor the facilities to be used during the games.
The Inspector General of Police was grateful to UCU and Vice Chancellor of the University for agreeing to host the games and also promised that the Uganda police force will do the best to have successful games.
This is the first time for EAPCCO members to roll out a program that brings together sports abilities in the region. And the theme of the games is ‘to promoting community policing and regional integration through sports’.
IGP also added that through the spirit of sports we believe that east and central Africa countries will be in position to be together.
Uganda will also host the 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the East African Police Chiefs’ Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) in September this year.
