West Nile- about 50 police officers including commanders, investigators and heads of various departments have completed a 3-day training on preservation and protection of human rights.
The training took place at Royal Crane Resort Hotel in Arua and the participants were drawn from the districts of Arua, Nebbi, Koboko, Maracha, Zombo and Pakwach.
SP Josephine Anguncia the West Nile police spokeswoman says the officers were taken through various lectures on Human Rights by a team of facilitators from police headquarters and Uganda Human Rights
Commission (UHRC).
CP Dr. John Kamya in his closing remarks advised the participants not to violate the rights of the people in the cause of their duties given that now they are trained.
The participants were later awarded with certificates of attendance.
