Statement about Late ASP Kirumira

The Uganda Police lost one her officers, ASP Muhammadi Kirumira last evening Saturday 8th, September 2018 at Bulenga along Mityana, Mubende High Way, Wakiso District at about 09:00pm.

He was assassinated together with a lady identified as Resty Nalinya, who hails from Mpenja, Gomba District. The two persons were rushed to Rubaga Hospital for medical attention but were pronounced dead on arrival.

The assassins were travelling on a motorcycle and run away immediately after the brutal assassination of the two persons.

The Uganda Police Force together with sister security agencies are currently investigating this heinous crime and will bring to book those responsible for the criminal action of murder.

When this unfortunate information reached the police, police leadership communicated with the family and delivered the condolence message. We are saddened.

However, our resolve to hunt down these criminals and protect all people and their property is total.

The Uganda police strongly condemn such acts and vow to find such people, we must act together to stamp out insecurity. We also call upon the public help us fight such gruesome deaths and not give way to fear.

About late ASP Kirumira

The late ASP Muhammadi Kirumira joined the Police Force as a Probation Police Constable on 29th, January 2005. After his training in Kabalye Police Training School, he was posted to Kibaale District as his first duty station as a detective.

During his 13 years of service in the Uganda Police Force, he worked in various places and held various responsibilities.  He rose through the ranks to the current rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

He is remembered to have served in the CID department but was later reverted to uniform. He served in many areas including the following: OC Owino, OC Kulambiro, Oc Station Bwera, OC Station Nansana and later he was elevated to head Old Kampala Police Division as DPC in 2016. In 2017, he was transferred to Buyende District which was his last posting.

He excelled in most of these areas where he was posted. However, in service he had challenges, complaints were leveled against him and they were investigated as service offences.
