Police in Kanungu has three men in custody to help in investigation in the murder of a sixty-year old biological mother.
Margaret Mugisha of Ibarya cell Kihanda Parish, Kirima S/C in Kanungu district was allegedly murdered by strangulation on the 22/02/19 at unknown time from her house.
The suspects in her killing are; Ngorogoza Yonah, Asiimwe Jorry and a one Herbert.
They are being held on grounds that they were involved in a land wrangle with the deceased.
It is alleged that the deceased was staying with her two granddaughters who at the time of her death were at school and when they came back, found the house locked with padlock and their grandmother missing.
They then informed their nephew, a one Herbert being the immediate neighbor who seemed not bothered at all and told them to go and sleep in another house next to the one of the deceased.
The next day, Herbert reportedly went and informed the area LCI Chairperson, Jesica Tindimwebwa and when they opened the door, Mugisha was found lying lifeless.
The suspects claimed she committed suicide by hanging with a rope and reported to police.
Police visited the scene and discovered she had signs of violence on her body.
Her body was taken to Kanungu Health Centre four for postmortem which revealed she was murdered by strangulation.
And immediately, the children were arrested for questioning.
