AGGRAVATED ROBBERY IN KISENYI ZONE

The Police at Kawempe Police Division are actively investigating a case of aggravated robbery that occurred on the 13th of June 2025 at around 1:00am, in Kisenyi Zone.

The victim, Nampera Christine, reported that unknown assailants broke into her house while she was asleep. During the attack, the gang stole several items including a 32-inch flat screen TV, a Samsung A4 mobile phone, and UGX 500,000. The attackers were reportedly armed with a knife.

Following the report, officers from Kakungulu Police responded to the scene with a Police sniffer dog (Boela). The dog successfully tracked the scent to a nearby room where it identified Ssekandi Jonathan, who was found sleeping inside. Upon being discovered, another suspect identified as Ssulasako Mayor, who was outside the premises, fled the scene.

A search of the room led to the recovery of the following exhibits:

• A sharp knife with a black cover (believed to have been used in the attack)

• A pair of sharp scissors

• A hammer

• Several bundles of Nacortic drugs wrapped in blue polythene bags

The suspect, Ssekandi Jonathan, was arrested and is currently in police custody. Efforts are underway to apprehend his accomplice who is currently on the run.

The Police assures the public of continued efforts to ensure the safety and security of all residents, and commends the effective response by the canine and CID teams in aiding the investigation.
