We wish to inform the public, that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda and the Commander In-Chief of the Armed-Forces has made the following appointments and redeployments in and from the Uganda Police Force.
1. Inspector General of Police – Abbas Byakagaba
2. Deputy Inspector General of Police- James Ochaya
3. Major General Geoffrey Tumusiime Katsigazi goes back to the UPDF for redeployment
4. Major General Kandiho Abel, has been redeployed to the Presidents Office as a Senior Presidential Advisor
5. AIGP Nuwagira John- Director Field Force Unit
6. AIGP Twaruhuukwa Erasmus – Director Research and Planning
7. AIGP Kaali Fadhil- Director Fire and Rescue Services
8. SCP Waswa David- Director Counter Terrorism
9. SCP Kafeero Moses- Director Human Resource Development and Training
10. SCP Mwesigwa Frank- Director Operations
11. SCP Namutebi Hadijja-Director Welfare and Production
12. SCP Kataratambi Charles- Director Human Rights and Legal Services
13. SCP Bamunoba Ubaldo- Chief Political Commissar
14. SCP Baryamwisaki Felix- Director ICT
15. Brigadier Golooba Godfrey goes back to the UPDF for redeployment.
16. All other affected police officers, will be reassigned other duties by the new Inspector General of Police
The entire police fraternity, would like to congratulate all newly appointed officers, whose background in law enforcement and policing, will enable them to effectively lead, the men and women of the Uganda Police Force, and promote top quality policing, as they continue to secure our country and make all people feel safe. We are confident they will embrace the changes necessary to bring out the best from the dynamic and committed workforce of the police.
We also want to congratulate the outgoing team, for their dedicated public service and enormous contribution to the UPF. They continue to remain our Ambassadors and leave behind a legacy and team of leaders, ready to continue serving the UPF. We wish all of them, the best in their new assignments.
