Busoga North Region has made a breakthrough in apprehending prime suspects in a series of robberies in the region.
Eight suspects have been arrested for having terrorized the region for a long time.
The suspects are Namubona Aziz, 31; Wambi Fred, 40; Mugaya Grace, 49; Ayazika Godfrey, 52; Basalirwa Stephen, 39; Wamubiligwe Henry, 30; Takuwa Zainabu, 42; and Kwagala Suzan, 43.
The arrests followed a series of aggravated robberies and murders in which the suspects took part.
During an operation, the team recovered two firearms and 14 rounds of ammunition in Bugweri district. A motor vehicle, silver in color, Reg. No. UAZ 656D, was also recovered.
All the suspects plus the recovered exhibits were taken to Busoga North Region for further investigations.
