The Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Mr. Zheng Zhuqiang has today handed over a 22 bus seater to Uganda Police Force at function held at the offices of Directorate of INTERPOL and International Relations in Kololo, Mabua road.
Mr. Zheng commended the close cooperation between Uganda Police Force and China.
He called for more China-Uganda relations in terms of economic, social development.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Brig. Sabiiti Muzeyi thanked the Chinese embassy for its continued support towards Uganda Police Force.
“We thank you for your enthusiast efforts to support INTERPOL, we highly commend the spirit of cooperation with the Uganda Police Force,” Brig. Sabiiti said.
“All of us know that transport is one of the most important items especially when you are coming to work and this is very important to us, the staff will now be moving comfortably and also be able to report on time and go back home on time.”
He thanked the Chinese embassy for the efforts towards human resource development evidenced through training of Uganda Police personnel recently.
Director INTERPOL and International Relations, Dr Fred Yiga said the community relations approach has not only helped them address cross border crime firmly but has also brought other direct benefits to the directorate.
It should be remembered that the Chinese embassy recently donated a brand new 110KV generator, TV screens and a video camera and training of INTERPOL officers.
