IGP ASKS SCHOOLS TO TEACH MARTIAL ARTS
The Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura has urged schools to start martial arts programs for pupils at an early age.
Infuriated by the increasing cases of defilement and rape The Inspector General says that, martial arts will give pupils self defense drills and skills that will help in addressing the rampant problem.
IGP said this during an event to celebrate 50th anniversary of Stella Maris Girls Primary schools Nsuube in Nkonkonjeru, Buikwe district on Saturday 21st march 2015, as a guest of honor.
He said “martial arts training will equip the girl-child self defense skills in case they are confronted by defilers or rapists.
On that note The Inspector General of Police pledged to give free training on how to fight back in case of criminal provocation.
He adds on that, within two weeks training will have begun at the schools and will make sure that the program spreads even to other schools.
