IGP Football Tournament Heats Up in Week 2 – Cops Trade Boots for Goals

Community Policing Latest Posts Sports

Week 2 of the IGP Football Tournament delivered drama, goals, and good old-fashioned football banter as police units across the country faced off in spirited battles.

Kabalye Police Training School had no chill, humiliating Masindi Police Station with a jaw-dropping 7-0 thrashing right on their home turf in Kabalye. The trainees showed their seniors no mercy, sending them back nursing bruises and second thoughts.

Elsewhere, Lugazi PS drowned the Islanders from Buvuma Police with a dry-land tsunami, finishing 5-0. Kakiri Police then took the fight to Wakiso, crucifying the hosts 3-0 in front of their own fans on Saturday.

Traffic Police (The Road Masters) put the brakes on Logistics (The Police Suppliers) with a smooth 2-0 victory in Old Kampala. Logistics came expecting a supply of goals, but Traffic handed them a ticket instead.

In a clash of crime solvers, the Ballistics Team (Forensics) narrowly edged out their investigative cousins from CID, sealing a 2-1 win after the CID keeper underestimated what looked like a “weakling” shot, only to watch it sneak in like a clever suspect.

Other Results:

• Kiboga PS 2 – 2 Kasanda PS

• Marine Police 1 – 1 FFU (Field Force Unit)

• Busia 0 – 0 Tororo

• Jinja Road 1 – 0 Nagalama

• Mubende PS 4 – 2 Kyankwanzi

The tournament continues next weekend as teams gear up for Week 3. Expect more goals, more action, and probably more bruised egos. Who said cops can’t play ball?
