The Criminal Investigation Directorate is holding a man for allegedly operating a social media account, Facebook under the name of the Inspector General of Police.
Geoffrey Kalele, a resident of Namutumba district is said to have signed up the said account under the name Martins Okoth Ochola between March and June which he has been using to defraud unsuspecting persons.
CID spokesperson Vincent Sekatte has confirmed the arrest.
He also noted that the suspect has been ordering police officers through the Facebook account on top of conning his victims.
According to Sekatte, by the time of his arrest, Kalele had already collected Shs700, 000 from the public with claims he will use the money to pay school fees for his children.
