Police 2-0 URA FC

Police FC cruised to the second straight home win after a commanding 2-0 victory in their StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter with URA FC at Kavumba Recreation center on Friday.

A second-half brace from in-form striker Umaru Kasumba proved decisive, halting the Tax Collectors and earning the Cops a crucial three points.

The first half was marked by a cagey, tactical battle, with both sides struggling to find a clear opening despite a series of probing moves. The midfield was especially combative, culminating in a yellow card for Police’s Mugume Emmanuel in the 65th minute.

The deadlock was broken in the 71st minute when Kasumba calmly slotted home following a perfectly timed assist from Jjemba Abud Shakur Ramsey.

Three minutes later, the Kavumba faithfuls were on their feet again as Kasumba doubled the lead, converting a well-placed pass from substitute Reagan Male.

URA FC pressed forward in search of a comeback, but their efforts were repeatedly thwarted by a resolute and disciplined Police backline and goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga.

At full-time, the Tax Collectors were left ruing missed opportunities, while Police FC celebrated a much-needed win that breathes life into their campaign.

Before the match, Police FC sat 12th on the table with 27 points from 24 games. This victory lifts them to 30 points, injecting fresh momentum as they prepare to face Kampala City on April 29th.
