The territorial police in East Kyoga and Soroti East division, is actively searching for a group of chapati sellers, from Asinge cell, Madera ward in Soroti East division, for the alleged torture and murder of Opio Musa, on allegations of theft of a table, belonging to Busulwa. The 4 suspects who include Busulwa, Otim, Oparo, Rafael and others on the 10.11.2023, arrested the victim, led him to a eucalyptus forest, between compswahili and Madera, and beat him seriously, before dragging him back to the trading centre, where he died from. The police responded and rushed him to hospital where he died from.
MAN STABS GIRLFRIEND TO DEATH
The territorial police in East Kyoga region and Serere CPS, have in custody a one Osapa Moses a 38 year old, resident of Pingire landing site in Serere district, for the murder by stabbing of his woman friend, called Asekenye Stella, alias Hellen, aged 22 on the 7.11.2023, on the right ribs, using a knife. The victim was rushed to Serere HC IV, where she died after 4 days, on the 11.11.2023 at around 8am. The suspect escaped but was arrested from Amakio village. The lovers had spent 3 months together. On the 7.11.2023, at Karamajong village, the suspect confiscated his lover’s clothes, which prompted her to pick his solar panel. The matter was however, resolved by the LC1, but a few moments after, the suspect followed his girl friend to her room and stabbed her with a knife.
60 YEAR OLD WOMAN MURDERED BY BAR OWNER, AFTER FALLING ON SOLAR PANEL
The territorial police in North West Nile and Adjuman district, have in custody, 3 suspects including the bar owner, for the alleged murder by assault, of Lala Rose, a 60 year old, peasant of Tanganyika village, on the 7.11.2023 at around 6pm at Goli Luke’s bar. The victim who was drunk, tripped and accidentally fell on the solar panel of the bar. The bar owner, and other suspects reached and tied the victim with a rope on the wall of the bar where she spent the whole night standing. The following morning she was untied and found her way home. The matter was reported to police, and the victim taken to hospital, treated and returned home. She later died from home. The 3 arrested suspects include; Goli Luke, Tioridi Padkazio and Mkwadri Michael.
MATOOKE FARMER KILLED BY NEIGHBOURS BEHIND THEFT
The Territorial Police in Greater Masaka and Sembabule CPS, have in custody two suspects who allegedly murdered their neighbour, after stealing Matooke from his plantation. The two suspects include; a brother to the complainant and Oliver Nabyesero aged 24, and Wasswa Emmanuel, aged 28, and residents of Lwembogo ‘B’, Lwebitakuli sub county. On the 11.11.2023, the victim went and warned them, against the continuous theft of his Matooke. They instead assaulted him to death and were arrested. The male suspect is a younger brother to the deceased, Rugarambi Bazirio.
Although these are murders arising out of petty crimes, as the police we shall investigate every murder and follow all reasonable leads to catch offenders. Therefore, the public should know that when a crime has happened, we shall consider all reasonable lines of inquiry. Most of these murders can be avoided, if our communities remain law abiding, and through increased visibility by the police.
