POLICE ARREST ONE OFFICER AND SHOOTS TWO SUSPECTED THUGS
One policeman was on 18th November 2014 arrested for shooting dead Tusiime Micheal, 30 years at Busonga 1 village, Magambo sub county Rubirizi district.
The deceased had been playing cards and eating mairungi with a group of young people, when the policeman attempted to arrest them.
The policeman, No. 53373 PC Byarugaba Francis has been arrested and detained at greater Bushenyi Regional Police head quarters.
The regional police commander and the DPC visited the scene and recovered an AK47, with 28 rounds of ammunition as exhibits.
The police caution all personnel against misuse of firearms and the use of excess force in performing their duties as this contravenes the law.
At Kamaiba ward, Kasese Municipality on 19th November 2014 at 2145/c Police shot dead two suspected robbers. One has been identified as kamugisha Frank 30 years; they were travelling in a Toyota premio reg. no. UAP 488N. The police recovered an SMG with 16 rounds.
The other occupants of the Toyota premio escaped and are on the run. The bodied were taken to Kasese municipal council hospital for postmortem.
