The Territorial Police in Ngoma, Nakaseke District, has in custody a suspect who hacked to death a mother and her two sons, aged 13 and 3, using an axe. The incident wich occurred on the night of 6/09/2019, was reported by Nakaye Teddy, a 52 year old peasant.
It is alleged that the suspect Kimeze Festo, a 35 year old, charcoal burner, was cohabiting with Namukisa Pauline, a 40 year old female adult, who came with her two sons, Kizza Robert, a 13 year, old male juvenile and Kato Bob, a 2 year, old male juvenile and they started together. They had stayed together for the last 6 months as a family.
The suspect admits to hacking the three to death, after failed attempts to recover his saw machine, which he suspected was stolen by his lover and her two sons. Upon arrest he led detectives to where the axe was hidden and it was recovered. The bodies of the three victims were subjected to post mortem examination and handed over to the relatives for burial.
We strongly condemn such cruel and inhumane acts of violence which has no justification whatsoever. The victims had become part of his family and he should have explored all available means of seeking justice through the LCs, friends, relatives and the police.
The suspect was charged to court today 16/09/2019 with 3 counts of aggravated murder.
