POLICE DOG LEADS TO RECOVERY OF STOLEN PROPERTY AND ARREST OF SUSPECTS IN NTUNGAMO DISTRICT

On August 22, 2024, Nasumba Hawa from Nyamunuka Central Ward in Nyamunuka Town Council, Ntungamo District, reported the theft of speakers and a TV. The case was filed at Nyamunuka Police Station, and officers responded by deploying a police sniffer dog.

The canine led the officers to a bar owned by Tumanyanire, who was still sleeping with his wife at the time.

A search was conducted, and the complainant’s stolen property, along with some breaking implements, were recovered from the premises.

Tumanyanire and his wife, Katushabe, were arrested to assist in the investigation. The suspects are currently in police custody, and further legal action is pending as the investigation continues.

POLICE CANINE UNIT LEADS TO ARREST IN BUYENDE DISTRICT BAR BURGLARY

On 24 August 2024, in Buyende district, police utilized a canine unit at a bar that had been burglarized, resulting in the theft of alcoholic beverages. The incident involved the theft of three crates of beer and cartons of waragi, reported by WAIWE STONE from the Gwase Trading Center in Bugaya subcousubcounty.

Canine was deployed at the scene, leading to the arrest of WAISWA BUNGU, from whom all three crates of beer were recovered. Waiswa was also found attempting to start a bar at the location.
