Police in Greater Masaka have arrested over 152 suspects in an operation that was carried to create a crime free area. There’s growing fear of attacks in Greater Masaka areas especially in the districts of Ssembabule , Lwengo and Kalungu .There are reported anonymous letters being thrown around intimidating residents in these areas.
“The Police has intensified operations and community policing programs in these areas to deter these crimes” said SSP Emilian Kayima the Police Spokesman while addressing the media at Police Headquarters today.
“As a result of reports received, on Saturday, 18th November 2017, following intelligence reports ,a joint operation by all security agencies was conducted in Masaka Nyendo where 152 people were arrested and a number of suspected stolen house hold items recovered” Kayima said .
Kayima appealed to the general public to always report these cases to the nearest police , the public should refuse to live in fear and help the police identify all suspicious people involved in these crimes
