A total of 215 Police Officers from three regions and Kampala Metropolitan area, have been equipped with skills and knowledge in customer care during a two day training workshop.
Director Research and Planning, AIGP Edward Ochom urged the officers to avoid things that taint the image of Police but rather serve the public with all their hearts.
“Avoid doing things that portray the Force’s image in the community negatively. Be presentable and understand that most people who come to the (Police) counters have problems and therefore expect quick response and assistance from you. Have a good customer care,” Mr.Ochom said these while opening the training workshop today morning at CID headquarters, Kibuli.
He urged investigating officers to always give feedback to complainants on the progress of their cases.
The Director implored officers to go back and reflect on what they have been trained so as to improve the Police -public relationship.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Patrick Onyango who represented, Uganda Police Force PRO, CP Fred Enanga noted that due to numerous calls from members of the public regarding customer care, they realized the need to organize the training of police personnel to remind them on how best they can serve the community.
He reminded officers not to look at people who come for help from the counters as a burden.
