The Police is investigating circumstances under which a 62 year old woman was short dead last evening in Kololo Village, Bwiri, Bumwoni Sub County in Namisindwa.
Elizabeth Kimono, a retired nurse working with TASO in Mbale was shot in the eye by assailants still at large at about 2000 hours last evening.
Our team of scene of crime officers got to the scene and rushed the victim to Magale Health Center IV from where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
It is alleged that the deceased had a long term land wrangle with her brother, Stephen Musamali that had culminated into accusations of witchcraft.
Whereas the deceased body has been taken to Mbale Hospital for postmortem, one person is in our custody to help in investigations.
Regional Police Spokesman Mansur Suwed has identified the suspect as Benon Wamatabi.
To this therefore, Mansur has appealed to the public to give information leading to arrest of the suspects in the said murder.
