President Y.K Museveni has hailed security agencies for job well done, during and after the 2016 general elections.
This was during a thanks giving ceremony at Kololo Independence ground where the President met the Uganda Police Force, the Army and prisons services and appreciated them for securing the elections from bribe voters, arson committers and killing of people.
He also saluted the forces for securing Pope Francis’s visit to Uganda, which he said, was a success.
“Keeping Uganda safe and peaceful is one of the core roles of the National Resistance Movement and that the work being done by police, army and prisons is constitutional”, said the President.
He encouraged constant training among security personnel so as to always improve on their skills.
He applauded the Uganda police force for making their uniforms locally and encouraged them to use local materials like cotton, which will also improve on the agricultural sector.
He also pledged to equip the Uganda prisons services with farming materials like tractors to enable them produce enough cotton for Uganda.
