The Territorial Police in Albertine and Masindi CPS have in custody a step mother identified as Komuhendo Harriet, for the alleged murder by poisoning of her two step children, aged 8 and 6 and attempted murder by poisoning of a third victim, a 2 year old victim, who is still getting treatment at Masindi General Hospital, on the 26.10.2023, at Kihaguzi “B” village. The incident occurred at Labongo sub county in Masindi district that the suspect gave the 3 siblings, food laced with suspected poison. They became unconscious and were rushed to Masindi General Hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, Katusiime Patience, an 8 year old, female juvenile and Asobora James, a 5 year old, male juvenile died. The third victim, Kyosaba Mary, aged 3 years is improving and out of danger, at Masindi hospital. We pray for her quick recovery.
We do strongly condemn such acts of brutality against innocent children, who have a right to life, by a mother who was supposed to nurture and provide for them. The suspect is being charged with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
