UGANDA POLICE SIGNS MoU WITH GUJARAT UNIVERSITY, INDIA

A Ugandan delegation led by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon. Jacob Oulanya and the Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura visited Gujarat Forensic Science University (GFSU) on Monday.  While at the University, the team met with officials of the Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS) and other University Officials.  Later, on Monday evening the delegation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (M.O.U) for cooperation in various areas of crime detection, including crime scene and cyber forensics.

According to J.M.VYas, the Director of GFSU, the Memorandum of Understanding is on multiple issues including co-operation in forensic investigation, capacity building and cyber forensics.

  1. There is need for more training in forensic and cyber investigations as urban crimes are committed by elite using soficated technology. Mou with universities which sponsor such trainings in investigations is a positive move to crime management.
