A two-day validation workshop, supported by the Embassy of Sweden in Uganda and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), is currently taking place at Kabila Country Club. The event gathers 60 stakeholders from various sectors, including government ministries, civil society organizations, academia, and development partners like UNICEF and UNFPA.
The workshop’s primary goal is to validate the Curriculum and Training Manual along with the Trainers’ Guide for the Child and Family Protection Induction Course.
CP Hilary Kulayige, Deputy Director Chief Political Commissariat emphasized the importance of participant input in developing these resources, which aim to enhance the Uganda Police Force’s capacity to protect citizens and contribute to economic development.
The finalized training materials will be utilized to educate officers focused on family-related issues within the Department of Child and Family Protection.
This collaborative initiative reflects a commitment among stakeholders to improve responses to Gender-Based Violence and Violence Against Children, ultimately strengthening family protection in Uganda.
