Traffic Operations on Highways 

There is a wrong story doing rounds in the social media that Traffic Police have been removed from the roads and highways. This is not correct.

Actually, the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety is streamlining its operations especially the FIKA SALAAM operations by directing on areas where check points will be strictly mounted.

Those areas have been given; no other check point will be expected. If it must be, then it will be cleared by Police headquarters.

This is to respond to complaints of extortion by some Traffic Officers. The areas were given on all highways. We shall amplify these same areas tomorrow for all to note and know.
