A total of 30 vehicles have so far been impounded during joint operations conducted by the Uganda Police Force and the Military Police in and around the city.
The operations have been conducted in accordance with the law targeting vehicles and motorists involved in traffic violations which included those without number plates, fitted with illegal sirens and flashing lights, those with concealed number plates and vehicles whose drivers have been engaging in reckless driving.
The drivers of the impounded vehicles will appear before courts of law to answer the charges preferred against them. The operations will continue until sanity and discipline are restored on our roads.
We therefore urge the public to cooperate with the officers conducting these operations and comply.
