After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Police gaffer Simon Peter Mugerwa made changes, introducing Denis Iguma, Denis Kalanzi, Ogweti Gerald and Emmanuel Mugume to continue mounting more pressure on Villa.

At 83 minutes, Police equalized from a penalty kick by Obedi Brian James who sent custodian Meddie Kibirige the opposite way. This was after substitute Ogweti was brought down in the forbidden territory.
