We congratulate the Muslim community upon the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, which culminated in the celebration of Eid on 20th March 2026.
The general security situation across the country on Eid day remained peaceful, with only a few isolated incidents reported.
We extend our appreciation to all Ugandans, especially the Muslim community, for the calm, discipline, and cooperation exhibited throughout the celebrations.
We also commend the security agencies for their coordinated efforts in ensuring safety at places of worship, shopping centres, and entertainment venues, all of which experienced high turnout. Their effective management of traffic during the period of increased travel is equally appreciated.
Furthermore, ongoing intelligence-led and disruptive operations have significantly contributed to the prevailing stability and security in the country, with over 500 suspects arrested in the past week.
