On 18th June, 2026, the IGP Byakagaba Abas visited Police Training School Ikafe in Yumbe District to meet with recruit trainees who are soon to be passed out. They demonstrated to him their readiness in key policing skills.
He gave a lecture of opportunity during which he emphasized that excellence in service is built on teamwork discipline and a clear sense of purpose.
He stressed that peace and security are the foundation of national progress and every officer should play a crucial role in safeguarding them.
IGP urged the trainees to embrace collective responsibility, foster a supportive environment and remain committed to contributing to Uganda’s aspiration of moving beyond lower-middle-income status.
