POLICE ARREST TWELVE SUSPECTS OVER ASSAULT OF FELLOW TEENAGER

Following the circulation of a video on social media depicting a group of boys assaulting a fellow teenager, Police at Kabalagala have arrested twelve (12) suspects, including the prime suspect captured in the footage punching the victim.

All twelve suspects are students in Senior One. The prime suspect is aged 16 years, while preliminary investigations have established that the other suspects are also minors aged between 14 and 17 years.

The suspects were apprehended on 17 and 18 September 2026, with the final arrests being effected at approximately 0200hrs on 18 September 2026, during an intelligence-led operation conducted in Nakibinge Zone, Kibuli Parish, Makindye Division, Kampala District.

Preliminary findings indicate that the assault occurred on 13 September 2026 at approximately 1800hrs in Nakibinge Zone, Kibuli Parish, Makindye Division, Kampala District.

The victim, who is also approximately 16 years old, is currently at his mother’s residence within the same locality, where he is receiving medical treatment.

The suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and the respective roles of each suspect.

The Uganda Police Force strongly condemns acts of violence, particularly those involving minors, and reiterates its commitment to upholding the rule of law, safeguarding the safety and dignity of all persons, and ensuring that individuals found to have engaged in unlawful conduct are dealt with in accordance with the law and applicable procedures governing juvenile offenders.
