ELATED PROMOTED OFFICERS URGED TO STAY FOCUSED

The Director Welfare, Production and Sports, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Birungi Charles, honored a pipping ceremony on 14th July 2023 at Naguru headquarters for the 27 gazetted officers from the directorate.

In his address, the director expressed gratitude to the spouses of the police officers for their unwavering support while their partners serve the nation and for their dedication to caring.
He acknowledged that,

“The promotions got is a sign of hard work and dedication. The institution is rewarding you to get motivated and continue working diligently as you serve the community around you.”

The officers pipped during the ceremony were elevated from the ranks of Assistant Inspector of Police to Senior Superintendent of Police.

Simultaneously, on this same day, the Director of Information and Communication Technology, Senior Commissioner of Police (SCP) Ssewanyana Yusuf, presided over another colorful ceremony for the 182 officers of ICT directorate at their headquarters based in Naguru.

He encouraged the newly promoted police officers not to lose focus and to apply ethical values in life to achieve their desired goals.
Director Ssewanyana emphasized that,

“promotion is a significant turning point and should not be a reason to relax, but rather a motivation to strive for continuous improvement.”

Additionally, the acting Director Forensic Services, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mubiru Andrew, celebrated the promotion of 64 officers under his docket.

The officers were from the ranks of Senior Superintendent of Police to Corporal at the forensics headquarters in Naguru.

The commissioner urged the newly promoted officers to reflect on the responsibilities ahead of them, work hard for future promotions, and cherish their families’ ties.

The ceremony also included a moment of thanksgiving, graced by Reverend Dr. Kihimbwa, to express gratitude for the achievements and blessings received.

At the regional level, Wamala Sub Region decorated 316 officers including the Public Relations Officer Superintendent of Police (SP)Kawala Racheal from ASP to SP while at Sezibwa Sub Region, 185 officers were pipped including the PRO SP Butoto Hellen from ASP.
