The Territorial Police in Kiira Region and Kira Central Division, have in custody a one Mpaata Edmond, the District Fisheries Officer of Nakaseke and his Private Security Guard, identified as Sande Gesa (a guard at his home along Elgon Avenue), for the Aggravated torture and murder of Alex Higenyi, a 20 year old, male adult of Napia Street.
The duo confined the victim for two days on the 16 – 17th 08.2023, at their home, plot 14, Elgon Avenue Jinja Southern Division, in Jinja City. Upon realising that the victim had died, they stuffed his body in the carboot of motor vehicle registration number UAL 998B, Toyota Corolla and transported the body, up to Wanyange and dumped it along Busoga College Mwiri road. They also abandoned their motor vehicle near Fantasy bar, along Kampala road. The vehicle was documented by the SOCO and the two other scenes at Wanyange and Elgon Avenue. Both suspects were arrested.
We would like to thank one of the female concerned citizens and boda boda riders in the area, who furnished us with relevant information that led to the arrest and breakthrough of the murder case.
We strongly condemn such blatant acts of impunity that cost the life of a citizen. The suspects behaved aggressively, with no respect for humanity. We cannot tolerate such acts of brutality and are going to ensure, they are charged to court.
