Police centenary monitoring team yesterday were flagged off by the Inspector General of Police Emeritus Cossy Odomel to all regions in Uganda, to follow up on implementations of police council resolutions of rolling out the centenary celebration activities to all the communities.
Activities include; community policing, rectification campaign (tree planting, blood donation etc.) among others. The committees have already visited some areas in Kampala Metropolitan areas of Wandegeya, Old Kampala, Lugazi, Kayunga, and will go on to visit Luwero, Mityana, Mubende, Nakaseke.
The team is targeting to visit all the policing regions in Uganda before the final celebrations which will be held on 3rd October 2014. The team will monitor the implementation of police work in different working units like traffic, fire rescue and marine, operations among others.
