Police confirm a fatal road traffic crash that claimed the lives of Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye, both employees of Next Media, and left Brian Makona injured.
The crash occurred today, 7 August 2026, at about 2:00 a.m., at Namulanda, near Stabex along Entebbe Road. It involved motor vehicles UA 779DE, Toyota Allex, and UAS 976W, Toyota Hilux.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the Toyota Hilux, registration number UAS 976W, which was travelling from Entebbe towards Kampala, allegedly lost control and drifted into the opposite lane while approaching the Stabex area at Namulanda. The vehicle subsequently collided head-on with the oncoming Toyota Allex, registration number UA 779DE.
As a result of the collision, Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye died at the scene, while Brian Makona sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
The exact circumstances and cause of the crash remain under investigation. Further details will be communicated as soon as the inquiries are concluded.
Police extend heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the deceased and wish the injured victim a quick and full recovery.
