The deputy regional police commander in north Kyoga region, together with personnel from lira districts on 07 September, 2014 recovered two SMG rifles and 89 rounds of ammunition from the home of Opio Patrick in Baralamu village, Onyakedi parish, Amach sub county, Lira district.
The police recovered the two rifles after receiving a tip off from a family member fearing for her life after Opio threatened to harm her.
Using the same information, the police arrested Onapa Fred, a close associate of Opio who was found in possession of one of the rifles and charged him with illegal possession of a fire arm.
Opio is on the run and the police is looking for him and be charged with illegal possession of fire arms and threatening violence.
