Week Three of the 3rd Edition of the IGP’s Cup continued across the country with thrilling football and netball action, as police teams battled for supremacy while promoting fitness, teamwork, unity and comradeship.
The football fixtures produced several high-scoring encounters, with Police Headquarters FC edging Canine FC 3–2, while Amudat Police FC secured an impressive 4–2 victory over Moroto CPS.
In another closely contested encounter, Logistics and Engineering FC drew 1–1 with Forensics FC, while Traffic FC narrowly defeated CT FC 1–0.
Elsewhere, Mbale City FC beat Bududa Police FC 2–1, Kakiri Police FC defeated Wandegeya CPS 2–0, and Kira Road Police FC edged Nagalama 1–0.
Other notable football results included Kiboga’s 3–1 victory over Mityana, Kawempe’s 3–2 win against Wakiso, Luweero’s 4–1 triumph over Nakaseke, and Kapchorwa’s 4–1 victory over Bukwo.
In the western region, Mbarara City defeated Kiruhura 4–0, while Police Training School Kabalye registered the biggest win of the week, defeating Kiryandongo 6–0. Mitooma also beat Buwheju 3–0, while Kasese edged Hima 3–2.
Other results saw CID defeat CI 3–1, PPG beat 999 FC 2–0, CPS Kampala overcome Kabalagala 3–1, and Gulu City edge Gulu District 1–0.
Netball action:
The netball competition was equally entertaining, with several teams posting dominant victories.
Environment produced the biggest scoreline, defeating Marines 60–0, while CT recorded a similar 60–0 victory over Traffic.
ICT beat Medical 36–6, Kawempe defeated Wakiso 40–6, and Katwe overcame Kajjansi 52–7.
In other matches, CID defeated CI 47–21, Lira City beat Oyam 31–20, Mitooma defeated Buwheju 25–0, and Mbale City beat Bududa 34–18.
The closely fought encounters included Kabalagala’s 27–24 victory over CPS Kampala, Old Kampala’s 21–16 win against Kasangati, and Kakiri’s 6–14 loss to Wandegeya.
Week Three once again demonstrated the competitive spirit of the IGP’s Cup, with officers across the country combining sporting excellence with fitness, teamwork and professional camaraderie.
