One held over number plates theft.
Police in Kayunga district have arrested one Walakira Abdu,26, a fisherman, resident of Namagabi , Sajabi Zone over theft of number plates of motor vehicles.
Sezibwa Regional Police Spokesperson, Hellen Butoto confirmed the arrest of Walakira.
“He has been arrested from his house after a member of the public alerted us that he is the one behind the stealing number plates from motor vehicles. After plugging of number off plates,he then asks for money from the owners of the vehicles,”said Butoto.
“Police searched his house and break-in equipment were found plus one number plate whereas other number plates were found in his toilet with the help of fire brigade to get the other number plates from the toilet.” she added
Walakira is currently being detained at Kayunga Police Station as investigations continues.
