Police at Nsangi have arrested 11 suspects in connection with an aggravated robbery and rape that occurred at Nakirama Cell, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District.
The incident happened on 28th July 2026 at about 4:00 a.m., when an unknown assailant reportedly broke into the complainant’s shop before attacking her with a knife.
The suspects demanded money and threatened to cause her grievous harm if she did not comply.
They later raped the victim before fleeing the scene.The victim subsequently reported the matter at Kikajo Police Post.
A team of investigators from Criminal CID, the Scene of Crime Officers and the Police Canine Unit visited the scene.
The scene was examined, documented, and found to have been well preserved.Police sniffer dog TP 297 Sofia was introduced at the victim’s bedroom, where the attack had occurred.
The canine successfully picked up the suspect’s scent and tracked it for approximately one kilometre, leading officers to a bar.
At the bar, officers found more than ten individuals who were reportedly intoxicated.
The sniffer dog conducted scent identification and indicated one of the individuals by sitting down, prompting officers to apprehend all those present for further scrutiny.A total of 11 suspects were arrested and taken to Kikajo Police Post, where they remain in custody as investigations continue.
