Yesterday, 14 October 2026, Police conducted a community sensitisation exercise in Kalagi, Nakifuma Town Council, Mukono District, to strengthen community-police relations, promote crime prevention, and enhance public awareness of security matters.
The team was led by the Deputy Commander, Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP), ACP Twishime Gerald, and comprised officers from KMP Operations, the Community Liaison Office, the Eastern Region, and the local police command. The engagement brought together local and religious leaders, as well as members of the public.
ACP Twishime thanked the community for its continued cooperation with the Police, emphasising that the exercise was a proactive initiative to strengthen collaboration rather than a response to an increase in crime. He urged the public, particularly boda boda riders, to remain vigilant against motorcycle theft, promptly report suspicious activities, maintain contact with Police, and strengthen neighbourhood watch initiatives.
On the forthcoming LC1 re-elections, he assured the public of the Police’s preparedness to provide security throughout the electoral process, while warning those intending to disrupt the exercise to desist and urging all stakeholders to maintain peace and order.
