The Uganda Police Force (UPF), through its Museum, is participating in the World Tourism Day celebrations taking place from 26th to 27th September 2026 in Mbale City, showcasing its technological heritage and advancements in digital policing.
Held under the theme, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,” the exhibition presents the evolution of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Counter Terrorism Tourism, demonstrating how modern technologies are transforming policing and enhancing public safety.
The exhibits feature the development of police communication systems, information management and digital documentation technologies, surveillance and artificial intelligence (AI) innovations, emergency response systems, and smart policing and service delivery platforms.
The Police exhibition team is headed by SSP Nyamaizi Marion from Research, Planning and Development alongside other senior officers.
Through the exhibition, UPF seeks to educate the public and tourists about its technological transformation journey, while demonstrating the critical role of digital innovations in strengthening crime prevention, emergency response, surveillance and efficient service delivery.
The participation further provides an opportunity to preserve and promote the Force’s institutional heritage, highlighting the transition from traditional policing methods to technology-driven approaches that support public safety and security in Uganda.
