The UPDF have been crowned overall champions of the 18th Inter-Forces Games and Championship 2026, with Uganda Police Force finishing second, Uganda Prisons Service third and UWA fourth.
The championship concluded with a tightly contested football clash between Police and UPDF that ended 1-1.
Closing the games, State Minister for Defence (Veteran Affairs), Hon. Grace Ngabirano, hailed the forces for demonstrating patriotism, discipline, teamwork, professionalism and resilience, saying that despite their different mandates, they remain “one security family, united by one flag and one mission — to protect Uganda and its people”
UPF was represented by SCP Timothy Halango, Deputy Director Welfare, Production & Sports, on behalf of the IGP, alongside other senior officers.
Uganda Prisons Service will host the next edition.
