Today, CP Kulayige Hillary, the Deputy Director of the Chief Political Commissariat, opened a two-day workshop on Ending Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) at Police Headquarters, Naguru.
While delivering his remarks, CP Kulayige emphasized the importance of handling SGBV victims with utmost care, noting that the methods used during engagement and interviewing significantly influence both the victims’ recovery process and the quality of information obtained.
He urged participants to adopt thorough, professional, and victim-centred approaches when handling SGBV cases. He further encouraged them to actively engage with facilitators throughout the training to deepen their understanding of the concepts and enhance their capacity to respond effectively to such cases.
The workshop attracted approximately 30 participants and is aimed at strengthening members’ knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies in handling Sexual and Gender-Based Violence cases and supporting victims with sensitivity and professionalism.
