On November 16, 2024, at around 1530hrs, a group of IMBALU boys armed with pangas, sticks, and stones attacked several individuals in Katwaka Cell, Bumagenyi Ward, Industrial Division of Mbale City.
They injured a man named Wesonga Swaib by striking him on the head with a panga and also robbed other victims of their belongings, including mobile phones and additional items yet to be identified.
Wesonga Swaib was promptly taken to Bunampongo Health Centre III for first aid by his relatives.
Police in Mbale City arrested three suspects: Wamimbi Bosco, Watuwa Bernard, and Wabulo Moses.
Security agencies take this situation seriously as these actions undermine a cultural practice that has been peacefully observed for many years.
